is a gardening wheeled tractor, traction class 1.4 with a 4x4 wheel arrangement, designed to perform a range of work on cultivating gardens and vineyards: working with a cutter and sprayers. It can be used in agricultural production to perform a number of mechanized work in livestock farming, for example, for distributing and storing feed, as well as in industry, construction, utilities and transport.

The MTZ-921 tractors are equipped with four-cylinder, four-stroke diesel engines of the D-245.5 family produced by the Minsk Motor Plant with a semi-separated combustion chamber made in the piston. Engine displacement is 4750 cm3. Rated power 70 kW (95 hp).[1]

Changing the speed from slow (1.8 km/h) to maximum transport (35 km/h) forward is provided by 16 steps in the gearbox. Accordingly - reverse gear from 4.5 to 7 km/h - in 4 steps. Control is carried out by one gear lever.

When the traction of the rear wheels with the soil decreases or the traction force increases, the front drive axle is automatically connected, which allows the full weight of the tractor to be used as a coupling axle, and, therefore, ensures high traction power. Hydrostatic steering ensures ease and simplicity of tractor control when performing any work. The hydraulic lift provides power, positional and mixed methods of automatic adjustment of the rear linkage.

To improve traction and grip qualities, a mechanical differential lock is provided. Rear axle differential lock: with electro-hydraulic control, has three operating modes: lock off; the locking is turned on with automatic shutdown when the front wheels are turned at an angle of more than 13º; blocking is forced. The locking clutch is a dry multi-disc clutch. On request - multi-disc, operating in an oil bath.

For agricultural machines with active drive, a rear power take-off shaft is installed. It has two independent rotation speeds of 540 and 1000 rpm and two synchronous rotation speeds of 2.3 and 4.2 rpm.

For trailed vehicles - towing device (TSU-1) - double crossbar - with permissible vertical load up to 400 kgf. Semi-trailer and trailed vehicles are aggregated through a towing device (TSU-1V) - a traction fork (vertical load - 1200 kgf).

Brakes

The main ones are mechanical disc brakes, the brake drive is hydrostatic separate. The parking brake is combined with the main brakes with an autonomous mechanical drive. The trailer brake drive is pneumatic, two-wire, interlocked with the tractor brake control.

Design Features

Transmission Belarus-921

This model uses a dry, permanently closed, single-disk friction clutch. Clutch control is hydrostatic. The synchronized dual-range gearbox with multiplier has 18 forward speeds and 4 reverse.

Forward speed ranges from 1.8 to 35 km/h; when moving backwards - from 4.1 to 11.5 km/h. A large set of gears helps to optimally select any agrotechnical speed of movement of the tractor with units and additional equipment, depending on the type of work performed. The gears are characterized by easy shifting, which is facilitated by the presence of synchronizers.
