Tractor engineering in Belarus is constantly developing. Long-established models are being replaced by new, more improved ones, made in accordance with modern quality standards.
Since 2009, the Minsk Plant has been producing the MTZ-1523 tractor, which belongs to traction class 3. Engine
The model is equipped with a diesel turbocharged engine D 260 with six cylinders, designed for a power of 148 hp. The volume of the power unit is 7.12 liters, the maximum speed of its crankshaft is 2275 rpm, which is 175 more than the nominal one. The maximum torque value is 587 Nm. Without working fluids, the engine weighs 650 kg.
The turbo engine is equipped with a three-stage air cleaner to ensure air flow to the cylinders. It starts with an electric starter.
According to the technical data sheet, fuel consumption is 161.8 g/hp/h, but in operating mode it can be higher. The volume of the main fuel tank is 130 l, the additional one is 120.
The engine is equipped with a dual-circuit hydraulic cooling system with a radiator. The movement of antifreeze in it occurs due to a centrifugal pump, and the thermal regime is maintained by the operation of two thermostats and a fan.
The motor is equipped with a combined lubrication system with a gear oil pump. The lubricant in it is cleaned by filtration and cooled using a built-in heat exchanger.

Hydraulics
The control of additional implements with a large lifting capacity on the MTZ 1523 is carried out using electro-hydraulics based on the Bosch-Rexroth technique. Automation allows you to work in three adjustment positions: power, mixed and positional.
The operator can control attachments, adjust tillage settings and perform other necessary tasks directly from the cab.
The maximum weight for which the rear implements are designed is 6.5 tons. Synchronization of braking and trailed equipment allows the braking distance to be reduced by 1.5 times.
Installation of additional implements is carried out using a standard mounted system at the rear of the agricultural unit. The operation of pneumatics is ensured by the pneumatic system of the tractor itself; the drive is provided by the PTO.
Transmission
The car is equipped with a manual transmission. There are 16 speeds for forward movement and 8 for reverse. The box consists of:

Chassis, transmission and controls
This configuration is equipped with a parking and service braking system. The functional elements are located on the drive gear shafts.
Service brakes are divided into left and right. They are driven by two pedals using a hydrostatic drive. The parking brake activates the detent lever via an independent mechanical linkage.
The transmission includes:
- Closed double-disc clutch. The drive is hydrostatic, the control is a pedal.
- Rear axle, consisting of a main gear, final and final drives and a locking differential.
- The front axle, which is the drive axle. It is presented in the form of a solid beam with a main gear located inside, as well as driven and drive gears.
The distinctive features of the chassis are reliability and convenience. Thanks to the design of the wheels, the track can be changed. On the front axle, the distance is reduced or increased by turning the disk 180°, on the rear axle - by moving the unit along the axle axis. To increase cross-country ability, dual wheels are installed.
Controls:

- four pedals, two of which are designed to operate the brake system, the rest for supplying fuel and clutch;
- levers that change gears and ranges;
- several control units: differential lock, front axle connection, hydraulic suspension system, PTO;

Steering
Hydrostatic steering of the agricultural unit makes it possible to significantly reduce the effort required when performing maneuvers. The system consists of:
- left-hand rotation gear pump;
- dosing pump;
- double rod cylinder;
- an oil container with a fine filter inside.
The mount is designed in such a way that the tractor can be controlled from the operator’s seat located at the rear.

The ergonomic cabin is designed and manufactured using the latest technology.

Power point
The 158-horsepower four-stroke diesel engine “D-260.1S2” with a volume of 7.12 liters and a turbocharging system installed on the tractor allows the machine to move forward at speeds of up to 32.38 km/h.
The motor, whose temperature is controlled automatically, is equipped with a highly efficient cooling system with forced circulation of liquid, which virtually eliminates engine overheating.
Design
Confident control of the tractor under any load is ensured by hydraulic steering, which includes a metering pump and two differential hydraulic cylinders, as well as ballast weights installed in front of the tractor.
Thanks to the BOSCH microprocessor control module built into the hydraulic system of the model, the machine works effectively with any additional equipment, regardless of its position relative to the tractor body. The tractor's hydraulic circuit with a capacity of 35 liters is powered by a pump with a capacity of 55 liters per minute.
Hydrostatic brakes attached to the main gears of the final drives operate in a container with oil.
The hydromechanical synchronized transmission unit of the stepped type with 16 forward and 8 reverse gears and a dry double-disc clutch allows the transition between speed ranges without interruption of torque.
