And then it becomes clear that it was worth taking this poster seriously. Let’s try now, after several years, to figure out what will go into production in the next 5 years and compare with analogues, including foreign ones, currently running around the fields.

S 300

The S 300 is a third-class combine harvester, a long-awaited replacement for Nivas, which have become quite outdated after 40 years of operation. However, despite its very old age, this equipment is not only in demand, but even simply irreplaceable, since we have a huge number of small farms in our country. It is small farms that are the target segment of the S 300, and this combine, about which the most is known now, is expected to be in maximum demand in the near future. It will be named NOVA. The machines will be equipped with only the domestic YaMZ 53405 engine with a power of 180 hp, while the maximum torque will be 670 Nm, and the nominal crankshaft speed will be 2200 min. The set of headers will be small, but this unit will be able to handle even a 6-meter header. Also, everything from 3 to 6 meters will suit it. for various crops The average productivity should be 9 tons/hour. The S 300 Nova should be released in 2020.

And the competition in this class is fierce, since almost all manufacturers produce it and it is very difficult to move from the top, for example, CASE with its Axial-Flow 5140 or the same JohnDeere with the W line, and besides, there is Agromash 5000, Polesse and a whole the Claas Tucano line, and therefore the creation of a 5th class combine needs to be approached with all thoroughness and rolled out to the general public something that can really surprise minds and win hearts. In general, the S 500 should repeat the characteristics of AKROS with the exception of one thing, it will be more productive and the declared value will be from 15 tons/hour

RSM 153

The RSM 153 will open the line of high-performance combines of Rostselmash. Currently, its place is occupied by the ACROS 595 Plus. However, the 595 is a fairly recent model and it is difficult to expect that the RSM 153 will be released in the near future. We will most likely see this model no earlier than in 3-4 years. And there are plenty of competitors on the Russian market, including Claas Tucano 570 and Belarusians from Polesie GS12 and GS14. And in general, every major manufacturer has 6th class combines in its line. Therefore, the competition here is just as great and in order to significantly increase market share, you will need to offer something really worthwhile. In general, in terms of characteristics, it will be an excellent example and a deep modification of the ACROS 530+ series with the RSM 161 design. It will be equipped with a 325 horsepower engine, and its productivity will be more than 30 tons/hour, which is an outstanding indicator for this class, but such indicators can will only be achieved in fields with high yields. Those. it will be a kind of symbiosis of ACROS 595 and RSM 161 that will absorb all the best from both models.

RSM 181-191

Two combines of class 8 and 9 are almost identical in appearance, differing only in the engine, 500 and 600 horsepower, respectively. The creation and serial production of such combines is a real passport to the number of top manufacturers of agricultural equipment. We simply have not produced combines of this class before, but in America and Europe they are in great demand. In our country there is also no huge demand for them, well, it’s more a question of price, because such toys cost very impressive sums, and few people can afford them. With the release of 181-191, such productive machines will become more accessible, and therefore more in demand. For example, the stated productivity of RSM 191 in fields with high productivity is from 70 tons/hour, while TORUM 780, the most powerful in the line, is now only from 40 tons/hour. It is these two models that should become a priority for Rostselmash, because with their introduction the entire line of grain harvesters planned for production will be closed.

At the moment, entering the 8th-9th grade with your own combines will be quite difficult, since such monsters as CASE IH, Johne Deere, CASE, NewHolland have been sitting in this segment for a long time. Agricultural producers are accustomed to this technology and it will not be easy to convince them to switch to the brand new Rostselmash. However, in Russia, RSM 181-191 will have a serious price advantage and, at a minimum, will be able to close its own market.

The compact grain harvester VERSATILE NOVA is a third-class productive agricultural machine. It has a three plus class thresher and fourth class cleaning. Forage harvesters

Currently, the Rostselmash line has two forage harvesters, DON680M (3rd class) and RSM 1401 (4th class), and to complete the main line there is not enough 5th class, a very high-performance combine with an engine of 700+ horses. But what’s surprising is that the company announced the start of mass production of the 4th class F 2650 combine, but with an engine of around 650 horsepower. This is 100 hp. more than on the RSM 1401, but still its performance is unlikely to allow it to rise to a higher class, but at the same time it will be possible to correct all the shortcomings on this model and enter the new class on a completely finished machine without any special flaws. Apparently, two models will be produced with power in the region of 750 and 850 horsepower, respectively. The main competitor on the Russian market for Rostovites in the fifth class will be the Germans, who produce their CLAAS Jguar 970/980 at the plant in Krasnodar, with a power of 780/880 horses, respectively. But the third and fourth classes are more saturated with competitors and it will not be easy to withstand the competition, which is why a line of 5 cars will be created for any need.

Despite the objectively observed trend of “reverse” consolidation of agricultural organizations after the “period of fragmentation,” in Russia there are still small farms that own small areas of land. Moreover, grain crops are actively grown on these lands. Such micro-enterprises are extremely interested in purchasing inexpensive but modern harvesting equipment. Until recently, practically the only domestic machine available to such farmers was the ZUK NIVA - a combine harvester quite reliable, productive, but essentially hopelessly outdated.

In 2020, Rostselmash announced the start of development of a new class 3 grain harvester, and from that moment it became one of the most anticipated machines for farmers. ZUK NOVA has passed field tests and will be delivered to farm parks in a limited edition in the spring of 2020; large-scale production of the new model will be launched a little later. Today we present this combine.

Chassis, engine, transmission

The NOVA grain harvester is a compact, lightweight, maneuverable machine. The wheelbase is only 3,700 mm, the driving wheel track is 2,770 mm, the ground clearance is as much as 500 mm, and the turning radius is only 7,500 mm. The dimensions of the combine without header are 8,060 / 2,985 / 3,960 mm, dry weight with IRS and without header is a modest 9,400 kg. It comes standard with rear-wheel drive and is optionally available with all-wheel drive. Increased ground clearance is a significant advantage for regions with uneven terrain, and when working on soils with reduced load-bearing capacity, it is possible to install larger wheels.

The NOVA is standardly equipped with a 4.34 liter YaMZ 534 (Stage IIIa) L4 turbocharged engine producing 180 hp. This is a relatively new engine, seriously and for the better different from older naturally aspirated engines, including in terms of efficiency. Comes with a fuel consumption control system and a hydrostatic three-speed transmission. The fuel tank capacity is relatively small - only 300 liters, but this will be enough for shift work.

Harvesting, threshing, cleaning

In the basic configuration, the combine is offered with a universal grain header Power Stream with a width of 4/5/6 m. Its distinctive features are an extended table, a hydraulic reel drive with speed synchronization depending on the operating speed of the combine, and reverse reaping parts controlled from the cab. The header ensures minimal losses of ears and grain due to shedding, and evenly feeds the heap in any working conditions.

A new conveyor feeder with a relief copying system ensures fast and uniform movement of the heap to the thresher, in front of which a stone catcher is installed. The location and configuration of the camera provides a complete overview of the “work front” and the adapter cutting apparatus.

The threshing device of the combine is a drum with a diameter of 600 m and a length of 1185 mm with a receiving accelerating beater and concave adjustment from the cabin. The drum rotation speed varies between 400 – 1,190 rpm. An optional reduction gearbox is available, which allows you to further reduce the speed to 260 rpm.

The unit uses a unique two-section deck with a coverage angle of 154 degrees. The combination of applied solutions provided the largest threshing area in its class - 0.93 m2, unsurpassed gentle threshing even in a thin layer and high productivity.

The four-key straw walker with an unexpectedly large separation area of ​​4.3 m2 compared to its classmates works efficiently due to the optimal length of the keys (3,600 mm) and the amplitude of their vibrations. The cleaning system is double-sieve, the total area of ​​the sieves is 3.59 m2. To intensify the process, the designers provide a large drop and a finger grid on the preparation board. Blowing is carried out by a fan with adjustable blade rotation speed within the range of 350 – 1,200 rpm. The unthreshed ear is returned to the drum.

Bunker, unloading and non-grain part

Cleaned grain enters a hopper with a capacity of 4,500 liters, equipped with a sampler and a fill level sensor. An unloading auger with a length of 4.7 m and a tray height of 4 m from the ground level allows unloading into any vehicles. The unloading speed, adjustable from the cabin using blinds, is up to 50 l/s; the hopper is emptied in 2 minutes.

The standard equipment of NOVA includes a chopper-spreader with 45 knives. The grinding drum rotates at a speed of 3,000 rpm. Once the shutdown command is given, the knives stop within seconds. To work with coarse-stem crops, it is recommended to retrofit the unit with a speed reduction device.

Thanks to the large drum, the straw is not damaged during threshing, therefore it is suitable for feeding cattle. The machine comes standard with

Modern cabin

NOVA combines are equipped with two-seater Comfort Cabs, like machines of higher classes. Sprung, sealed, with improved sound insulation, comfortable adjustable seat and steering column, air conditioning system, cooling chamber, they are truly ergonomic. The most frequently used commands are issued from the multifunction joystick, the main control panel is integrated into the right armrest.

The Adviser II on-board information system, equipped with an LCD monitor, helps manage production processes. The computer provides situational framing and provides voice and visual notification of changes.

Let's summarize. Thanks to the optimal layout of the MSU and cleaning, the machine’s performance comes close to that of higher-class, fourth-class combines. Taking into account comfort and wide functionality, today NOVA is objectively the most modern grain harvester among its classmates.

Versatile tractors

With the purchase of a tractor plant in Canada, Rostselmash acquired a whole line of ready-made tractor models, which all that remained was to give them a more modern look and establish sales. The main focus of the Canadian plant was the production of powerful tractors from 300 hp, and the Rostovites did not radically change the production line. Yes, in general, almost every major tractor manufacturer is trying to offer the buyer tractors with a power of 300+ hp, so the struggle for your buyer will be difficult, but nothing is impossible.

Results

If everything planned by the management of Rostselmash comes true by 2020, the holding will enter the top manufacturers not only in Russia, but also in the world. A huge number of items are already being produced, but for many agricultural producers, especially large ones, it is much more convenient to cooperate with one supplier. This has long been understood in the West, but in Russia two similar holdings are only now being created; Agromash will become Rostselmash’s competitor, but apparently the enterprises have some kind of unspoken agreement and it is already clear that their development priorities are different. Agromash is more aimed at low-power equipment and small producers, Rostselmash, on the contrary, relies on large and powerful machines that only medium and large enterprises can afford, but at the same time does not forget about low-power machines, which almost completely cover the entire line.
