Spare parts snowmobile Dingo, Vento, Mukhtar, SnowFox

Since our motorcycle store sells Irbis snowmobiles throughout Russia, there is an immediate need to talk about the most popular snowmobile of the winter 2014-2015 - Irbis Dingo T150. The story is based on real events and collected from the assembly experience of our servicemen, as well as the owners of the brand new Dingasik from the most popular snowmobile forum. So, you bought (or are going to buy) Dingo T150. The initial overview and general characteristics have already been described in the previous article. If it is not possible to purchase a snowmobile assembled, then you can (and even better) assemble it yourself. Brief instructions with photographs; more detailed instructions can be downloaded from the Irbis official website. After assembly, the snowball can be disassembled into its component parts for transportation, but loading it into a car alone is not very comfortable, judge for yourself; The unit with the motor separately weighs 78 kg, together with the skis - 83 kg, the track element - 70 kg, and also the seat 10 kg and the steering - 15 kg. It really fits in a sedan and a light SUV, loading for two is no problem, but for one it’s hard...

Next, we will consider in detail each component of the Irbis Dingo T150 snowmobile, paying attention to the shortcomings and their elimination. There is nothing particularly criminal, like all equipment from China, snowmobiles require minor modifications and attention to initial maintenance so that further operation brings only joy.

Engine

: Costs 157 QMI, well-known and popular engine, spare parts are available in every store. Power is 9.5 hp, can be easily tuned by replacing the CPG with a 62 MM (power will increase to 10.5 hp). At the factory, before sending the snowmobile to Russia, they start it up and test it, there are no problems with it and there won’t be any. The oil is filled, but it is for transportation and requires mandatory replacement. We purchase oil for four-stroke engines with a viscosity of 0W30 or 0W40 in advance and change it immediately. Volume 950 grams, replacement occurs when the gooseneck is unfastened. One bolt at the bottom of the pan and one bolt on the left side (when unscrewing, carefully, a spring and a mesh filter will appear; during subsequent oil changes, we wash and blow through the mesh). When changing the oil, the engine block itself can be tilted to the right so as not to flood the muffler (or then wipe it dry).

Oil is poured into the engine through the hole with the dipstick (we check the level without screwing the dipstick into the thread).
After a gentle operation of 100 km of the snowmobile, the oil needs to be changed again (manufacturer’s recommendations), and also after running the engine at 500 km or before the next season, we change it again. The oil filter installed on the oil cooler does not need to be changed for the first time; it is better to change it after 100 km (then after 1200 km). But it is advisable to unscrew and drain the old oil from it. The filter is screwed tightly, spray first with a high-pressure sprayer, then using a filter remover (you can unscrew the two pipes from the radiator and blow out the remaining oil from the filter without removing it). If you do everything as described, the engine will “run” forever! valves
;
As with all new equipment, it is advisable to adjust the valves. The valve may be jammed or knocking; you will hear a characteristic ringing sound after you start the engine. If everything is normal and there are no knocks, then you can leave it until better times, but do not forget. The Dingo T150 operating instructions on page 37 describe in detail how to adjust the valves on this engine. You need to remove the valve cover, use a manual starter to align two small holes along the lower and upper edges of the head, insert a feeler gauge (buy a set) size 0.1 - it should pass freely between the valve stem and the pusher, and a feeler gauge size 0.15 should get stuck. There is nothing complicated - learn, or take a bow to a mechanic. Properly adjusted valves really help the engine run smoothly and well. At the end of the article there is a visual video on how to independently adjust the valves on a four-stroke engine. Caterpillar
;
Before and after the first rides on the Dingo T150, tighten the drive gears; there have been cases where they are not tightened (ideally, carry a couple of bolts in reserve). We look at the tension of the gooseneck - the instructions describe it in detail. Take the time to lubricate the bearings in the chassis with lithol or moisture-resistant grease for CV joints. If you drive in the spring when there is a thaw, the bearings tend to rust, and then the wheels cannot be turned. The lubricant is also useful for the chain under the casing. In case of heavy rainfall, snow gets clogged under the protective casing and the flail and gear look noisy (see photo). A seal for the casing would be nice. Gearbox
;
Changing the oil when purchasing a snowmobile is mandatory, as stated on the tag on the gearbox itself. The instructions specify 70W90 mineral gear oil. The Chinese are weird. For winter, it is better to fill the transmission with semi-synthetic 75W90 or ATF (red oil for automatic transmissions). There is a drain bolt at the bottom of the gearbox pan (it is advisable to drain it at above-zero temperatures or wait a long, long time for the normal one to drain). The filler bolt is located on the left side (there is a photo in the instructions). The oil is poured using a medical syringe (250 mg), volume 750 grams. If the oil in the gearbox is not changed, then in cold weather the gears will not engage. The variator belt on the T150 is Gates Powerlink, very good and reliable, enough for two or three seasons, then through the store. Candle
;
The spark plug on Dingasik costs a decent amount - NGK CR7 HSA. The recommendation is simple; We buy a spare one and take it with us. Anyone who has a spare tire has never regretted it... Carburetor
;
A high-quality vacuum carburetor with automatic suction and simple settings is installed. On the left under the slotted screwdriver is the quality screw, on the right is the thumbscrew - the idle speed screw. It was configured from the factory, after running it will need to be adjusted again to suit you (the Internet is full of information about setting up the carburetor). On a cold engine 2500 rpm, on a hot engine during break-in - 1800-1900, after break-in you can reduce it to 1600. In severe frosts when warming up, it is permissible to add XX half turns with the screw. We periodically check the fastening of the carburetor; two nuts from vibrations “like” to be unscrewed (engravers are required). When driving beyond -15 degrees, there are cases of carburetor freezing from headwinds, snow, etc. It will stand, thaw and continue as if it never happened... It can be treated in several ways; 1. barrier cardboard on the steering column, a useful and proven device (see photo), 2. the air filter is wrapped 70% with a cloth or tape - tested. There is another factory jamb with a carb, but not everyone has it, more details at the end of the article... Tuning Dingo T150
; The quality of light can be improved by installing xenon. The lamp fits H4, block from 9 to 16 V. To protect the bottom, as well as for better cross-country ability of the snowmobile, you can install a third ski. Plastic sleds that are attached to the frame between the skis are suitable. It is better to change the fuel filter to a diesel BIG, it is the same (with a polymer mesh), but transparent (you can see whether fuel is flowing).

The following procedure is very important. This engine has forced cooling and the air intake becomes clogged when there is a large amount of oncoming snow. You need to cover it halfway with film (it sticks and holds itself) or insert a semicircle from a cut out tin under the metal protection. It will also be beneficial when driving and the engine will heat up faster after it has cooled down. DO NOT FORGET to remove at an air temperature of 0. -5.

Eliminating shortcomings

; There was a defect left from the previous model of the Dingo snowmobile. The snowmobile suddenly stalls. Try unscrewing the gas tank cap; if the movement resumes and the car does not stall, then the problem is in the cap (gases do not escape). You need to drill a 2 mm hole in the lid itself or bend the black antennae from the inside. Not everyone has this problem, but be prepared. We also inherited skis from our predecessor. Some specimens show small cracks. There is no fear, no complications in the form of further spread were detected. To calm it down, you can fill it with hot glue. The temperature sensor shows -32 degrees. Open the seat and connect (or reconnect) the temperature sensor connector (located together with the rear light connector). The frame of the snowmobile itself is painted without primer. The paint may peel off - keep a can of black paint in reserve. The handle of a manual starter (shmyrgalka) can be poorly adjusted and remains in the hands when trying to start it. There are no difficulties in getting the cord, but it is better to check the fastening of the handle and retighten it. You should put a piece of plastic under the air filter, since the filter itself is in contact with the starter and there is a possibility of fraying the wire and shortening it. Take a closer look and you will see... Don't be scared! When the ignition is on, the starter button works only when the brake lever is depressed (the brake light comes on), but the light turns on only when the engine is started. In addition to the spare spark plug, we buy and take with us a switch (you need a DC power supply from +12 volts). During intense braking, the pads will quickly “fit”; it is better to take care of the purchase in advance. A thread locker would also come in handy.

That's all…. As you can see, there is nothing terrible, the snowmobile only requires care, cleanliness and lubrication. At first we do not accelerate sharply, all movements are smooth, the engine should work in different modes. The T150 will roll in after about 200 km. It will begin to increase in speed and the performance of all nodes will improve. But don’t forget about inspections. Lately, all the parts of the snowmobile have been screwed on conscientiously in China, but there are also overlays (let’s say the Chinese worker didn’t get enough sleep), so we’ll keep an eye on it…. We remind you that in our store the Irbis Dingo T150 snowmobile is sold at an excellent price and with good delivery conditions. Call and ask your question about a snowmobile and get an answer. You will communicate with the author of the article, my name is Sergey.

A little more about the sad. Some individuals of Dingo T150 have a problem with heating the handles. It is necessary to swap the wires in the block. We look at the information letter from the Irbis company

Also, the first cars had a manufacturing defect, but again, not all of them. The carburetor enrichment receives less voltage than necessary, as a result of which the engine speed begins to fluctuate on a warm engine. You need to use an electrical tester to check the voltage to the enricher (ignition is on). If 12-14 volts, then normal, if 6 volts, then you need to solder one wire. On the right side, under the plastic (loosen the fastening of the plastic on the tank) behind the coil is our connector (red connector, see photo), we take it out by cutting off one plastic clamp.

Now we cut the yellow wire. We insulate one end (it is not needed), and we clean the other end, the one that goes into the connector, from insulation, as shown in the photo... (for convenience, the wire can be pulled out of the connector and then inserted back)

Next, we find or buy a wire about 40 cm long from the farm. We clean both ends of insulation and solder them on one side with our first stripped wiring. Let's look at the photo... Twisting is not advisable. Soldering...

Now we find a second connector (white) under the tank, which connects to the light control area and select the red and white wire (see photo, in the red circle). As shown in the photo, carefully remove the insulation.... It's impossible to mix it up.

Well, to complete the process, we solder and insulate the second end of our first solder with a red and white wire (bottom photo).

All! We hide the finished wires back under the tank and forget about the running speed. After the operation, it is worth tightening the carburetor and setting the engine speed indicated earlier. You can do it yourself in 20 minutes, but if you don’t have a soldering iron, then contact an electrician. It is worth repeating that this problem does not affect all Dingo T150s and appears after half an hour of driving (the revs begin to fluctuate). The company that produces Irbis is aware of this defect, we hope it will be corrected in new batches.

Well, in conclusion, a detailed video about how to adjust the valves on the Irbis Dingo T150 snowmobile yourself (the video shows a similar engine)

Irbis Dingo T150 is a time-tested snowmobile that has gone through three generations. Of course, the developers did a good job fixing the mistakes and created the model together with Russian engineers. The model in question is equipped with a powerful engine, and unlike its predecessors, it has good traction characteristics. This is facilitated by efficient air cooling. To increase cross-country ability, the manufacturer has provided an enlarged caterpillar track - its length is 2626 mm. The tape is made of reinforced material on a rubber-fabric base. In addition, the car received lugs increased to 23 mm. The device is also equipped with an improved roller-slide suspension, reinforced with two shock absorbers.

The snowmobile in question received an electric starter, although the car can be started manually. It is noteworthy that the snowmobile has compact dimensions, but at the same time is capable of transporting loads weighing up to 150 kg. Moreover, this model will become a worthy alternative to special transport in various farms.

The Irbis Dingo T150 model is equipped with a reversible gearbox, as well as heated steering wheel grip and throttle trigger functions. Heating can be switched between two modes, resulting in comfortable operation regardless of weather conditions. Among the pleasant little things, we note a special glove compartment under the seat. You can place various things and accessories in it, as well as tools and necessary spare parts. Large cargo can also be placed in this luggage compartment. A reinforced towbar allows you to transport a sled with additional cargo, the weight of which can reach 150 kg. If necessary, you can use a 12 V socket to which you can connect a navigator or smartphone battery. We highly note the multifunctional panel, on which you can display information about the engine crankshaft speed, external air temperature, oil pressure, daily mileage, etc.

In terms of handling, the Dingo T150 is simple and informative. Thus, the car is equipped with a CVT operating in stepless mode. The power plant and variator are adapted to work in low-temperature conditions. The engine is air-cooled and has a pre-heater. In case of overheating, an exclamation mark icon appears on the dashboard. This situation can arise, for example, when the internal combustion engine operates for many hours, or under high load (with high load capacity).

The Irbis Dingo T150 snowmobile has good maneuverability, and in terms of handling, it is definitely better than its previous analogues, taking into account the instantaneous reactions of the machine when changing the steering wheel. The driver does not have to lean over to make a turn. Moreover, the machine has excellent traction properties, which is very important for overcoming difficult icy areas. In field conditions, the Dingo T-150 snowmobile behaves predictably, as well as in deep snowdrifts. This was confirmed by successful factory tests of endurance and load capacity. One of the disadvantages is the poor placement of the footrests. These footrests are not very suitable for tall drivers, whose feet will slip off. However, as an alternative, other, larger footrests can be installed on request.

Based on the above arguments, we can be convinced that the Dingo T-150 has more advantages than disadvantages. It is ideal for the needs of fishermen and hunters, because it is endowed with excellent geometric cross-country ability and comfortable suspension. It has good traction characteristics.

The Dingo snowmobile is equipped with a CVT transmission.

The design of such a gearbox includes:

  1. Shafts equipped with variable cones. These parts are made of high strength steel.
  2. A chain mechanism that connects the shafts. This device is equipped with a large number of small teeth, which ensures a small bending radius. The chain is located at the end of the transmission housing. The mechanism is able to withstand high loads.
  3. Oil pump. It is necessary to pump oil into the system.
  4. Hydraulic block. He is responsible for supplying oil to the valves.
  5. Air filters cleaning. They are necessary to prevent contamination of the belt and cones.
  6. Radiator. Used to cool oil fluid.
  7. Control block.

The snowmobile is equipped with a disc brake system, which consists of:

  • calipers;
  • working brake cylinder;
  • brake pads;
  • brake disc device.

The caliper is made of cast iron and is located on the steering knuckle. It moves along the guides of the axial device in a horizontal plane relative to the disk. The design of the mechanism includes pistons.

The brake working cylinder is located in the caliper body. Inside this cylindrical element there is a piston equipped with a sealing lip.

Pads are metal plates with fixed friction linings.

The disk is installed on the hub of the wheel mechanism using mounting bolts.

The main device of the independent suspension mechanism of the Dingo-150 snowmobile is a shock absorber strut.

It is attached to the steering knuckle and when the wheels turn, it turns along with the spring installed on it.

In order to reduce the level of threshold stiffness, helical spring mechanisms are installed at an angle to the axis of the shock absorber strut. This helps make driving in off-road conditions more comfortable.

The steering mechanism handles are connected to the wheels and body of the vehicle using hinges and bushings. Both guides and load-bearing hinges are installed.

The suspension support units have little friction due to the presence of rubber inserts.

Electrical equipment

This vehicle model has halogen spotlights. Their device includes a rim, optics and a housing. The lamp is attached to the main structure using a spring latch.

The light bulbs are equipped with 3 pins, which are necessary for connecting the plug connector. The power of the spotlights can be adjusted using special screws.

The tail light is attached to the suspension body. The current indicators are 15 A. Such devices are used to protect the electrical circuit from damage and premature wear.

In order to activate the brake light, you must press the button located on the steering mechanism of the vehicle.
