One of the latest developments from Caterpillar is the Cat 5130 mining hydraulic shovel. The shovel has a mass of 170 tons and a 563 kW engine. The machine is equipped with buckets with a capacity of 8.5-14.5 m3 for loading dump trucks with a carrying capacity of 54-90 tons.

One of the main distinguishing features of the excavator is its modular design. The shovel has nine modules: a frame with a turning gear, left and right tracks, a counterweight, working equipment (boom, handle and bucket), a cabin, left and right modules of the upper structure, and a base of the upper structure.
