Apatit purchased an electro-hydraulic excavator Cat 6040

While it is possible to learn to operate a Cat excavator without doing so, the correct way to learn to operate a Cat excavator is to go to heavy equipment school. While training is possible on the job, school makes passing the licensing exam much easier. However, if you have access to a Cat excavator, a wide open space, and a lot of patience, you can learn to operate a Cat excavator in just a few hours of practice. It is strongly recommended to stay away from other people, vehicles and buildings while exploring the process.

Loaders

This category of Caterpillar excavators has been rolling off the assembly line for more than 30 years. The latest generation of the F series is created using modern engineering solutions that guarantee versatility and high performance with low consumption of fuel and lubricants.

Caterpillar Breaks Records: Largest Hydraulic Mining Excavator 6120B H FS

Caterpillar has completed the design, assembly and production of the largest hydraulic powered mining shovel in history. The new Cat 6120B H FS is significantly larger than the Cat 6090 FS, delivering highly efficient loading of ultra-class mining trucks in three to four passes. Hybrid technologies reduce fuel consumption per ton by approximately 25 percent through the use of hydroelectric recovery technologies and an energy storage system.

Caterpillar 6120B H FS mining excavator

The operating weight of the ultra-class mining excavator with hydraulic drive Caterpillar 6120B H FS is 1270 tons, engine power is about 4500 hp. (3360 kW). This allows the excavator to effectively operate a bucket with a volume of 46 - 65 cubic meters. meters depending on the density of the material.

The energy management system uses large capacitors to store the energy generated by the excavator as it slows down the swing and lowers the bucket. This stored energy then helps power the hydraulic system when the machine is operating at peak power, such as during the excavation phase. Hybrid technology, like other excavator systems, features long-life components and a design that simplifies maintenance. The 6120B H FS's insulated modular systems provide ease of access and improved serviceability.

Caterpillar's new hydraulically driven mining excavator will address the need for an ultra-class mobile excavator for short-term mining operations, off-grid areas, areas with limited access to electrical power and greenfield sites. The new product is also equipped with a selective digging function, which is not available for cable excavators, because... The hydraulic system provides greater force when using the bucket due to its wide height range. Field-proven Tri Power linkage technology improves the digging performance of the 6120B H FS excavator. It also takes full advantage of proven Cat excavator features, such as a modern, ergonomically designed cab.

The 6120B H FS prototype was released at Caterpillar's South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA manufacturing facility, where future 6120B excavators will be produced for full commercial sales following a series of rigorous inspections and field tests. Additional details about the new model will be provided at later stages of development.

Caterpillar Hydraulic Excavator - Cat 5130

One of the latest developments from Caterpillar is the Cat 5130 mining hydraulic shovel. The shovel has a mass of 170 tons and a 563 kW engine. The machine is equipped with buckets with a capacity of 8.5-14.5 m3 for loading dump trucks with a carrying capacity of 54-90 tons.

One of the main distinguishing features of the excavator is its modular design. The shovel has nine modules: a frame with a turning gear, left and right tracks, a counterweight, working equipment (boom, handle and bucket), a cabin, left and right modules of the upper structure, and a base of the upper structure. The modular layout makes it much easier to maintain, transport, install and dismantle the machine.

Thanks to the modular design, the reliability of the shovel increases. A single frame module with a rotation gear allows the bearing to be installed in a factory environment rather than in a quarry, thereby eliminating the need for a welded base for the bearing, which is one of the main sources of fatigue stress concentration at the welding site.

A set of seven replaceable buckets is available for the shovel, including for direct shovel equipment (general purpose, general purpose with cutting edge protection, rock, for high-density material) and reverse shovel equipment (general purpose, rock, for coal and other light rocks ).

The buckets use three types of removable teeth, and can also use attachments on the cutting and side parts. The bucket has a high degree of filling, which is ensured due to its design and high digging forces. The forces of penetration and separation of the mechanical shovel 5130 exceed the similar forces of machines from competing companies.

The operation of attachments is carried out by the operator through a hydraulic system with priority oil flow distribution and power control (PPRS). This system operates in two modes: proportional liquid supply and demand-based supply. If there is no need, the fluid supply is reduced to a minimum. As a result, heat losses and noise levels are reduced while fuel is used more efficiently.

In the proportional fluid supply mode, based on operator action, optimal oil flows in the hydraulic system are established. When performing two tasks at the same time (for example, lifting the boom and extending the arm), the system determines the requirements for each operation and provides volumes of fluid flows proportional to the needs of the hydraulic system. The RRRS system allows for smooth and coordinated operation of the machine with minimal fuel consumption.

Thermostatically controlled engine radiator and hydraulic oil cooler fans turn on only when needed, also improving fuel efficiency.

The Cat 5130 excavator has the widest track in its class, increasing machine stability.

The engine is a Cat 3508 TA turbodiesel with a fuel injection system with electronically controlled unit injectors (HJEI). Electronic injection timing control reduces fuel consumption and reduces maintenance costs due to low mechanical wear. Maintenance personnel have access to engine performance indicators, which are stored in the memory of the on-board computer. Using this computer, the operator has the ability to protect the engine from premature wear and damage when it is turned on in low temperatures, automatically adjust speed when changing altitude and stop the air supply if the air filters are clogged.

The fuel tank with a capacity of 2600 liters is designed to operate for 23 hours. The excavator is equipped with a comfortable cabin, the noise level in which does not exceed 72 dB(A). The cabin has overpressure and a ventilation system.

The excavator is equipped with an electronic critical diagnostic system (VIMS), which allows you to monitor the health of the machine and minimize downtime. VIMS monitors four key indicators: engine coolant temperature, hydraulic fluid temperature, air pressure and oil level. The data is displayed on a monitor installed in the operator's cabin. 5
